Police beat (6/10/10)

Among reports recently released by the Conway Police Department:

 

1. Residential burglary at 2300 block of Nature Trail. Victim reported Saturday that sometime during the last week two gas-powered leaf blowers went missing from a shelf in his garage. There was no sign of forced entry. The victim stated he left the garage door open for a short time last week but does not remember which day.

2. Residential burglary at 4100 Raleigh Dr. Victim reported that sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday an unknown suspect entered his residence through an unlocked back door and stole a Kimber 1911 handgun and an Apple laptop.

3. Theft of property at 1700 block of Independence Avenue. Victim reported Friday that her Social Security debit cards had been stolen. The suspect, an acquaintance of the victim who had been in her apartment the day before, later returned the cards. The victim checked the balance to find that $40 had been withdrawn from one of the cards.

4. Theft of property at 1500 block of Angeline Drive. Victim reported that her trash can went missing sometime between Thursday and Monday.

5. Theft of property at 20 block of Lexington Drive. Victim reported that sometime between May 31 and Monday his recycle trash can was stolen.

6. Theft of property at 190 block of S. Center Street. Victim reported Tuesday that a trailer was taken from his back yard sometime between 1 and 9 a.m. The black iron trailer is 5-by-10 with a wooden bed and a four-foot mesh gate with snap rings.

7. Breaking or entering 1085 Morningside Drive. Victim reported Monday that three pieces of lawn equipment were stolen from his company's trailer while he and his crew were working at Haynes ACE Hardware store. The trailer had been parked with the rear door open.

8. Breaking or entering at 2900 block of Joanna Drive. Victim reported that at about 4 a.m. Tuesday his car alarm was sounding. Once outside, the victim noticed that both the front driver and passenger side doors were open. Missing from the vehicle were three Capital One credit cards and nearly $180 in $1 coins. There was slight damage to the weather strip at the window of the driver's side door where the suspect forced entry.

9. Breaking or entering at 2125 Harkrider Street. Victim reported that her purse was stolen from her unlocked car sometime between noon and 1 p.m. Tuesday in the 10 Fitness parking lot. The green Dooney Bourke bag contained a multi-colored wallet, makeup, Heavenly Flowers perfume and a pink Nokia digital camera. The wallet held $1,100 in cash, the victim's driver's license and a Centennial Bank debit card.

10. Criminal mischief at 1100 block of Gum Street. Victim reported Thursday that an unknown suspect broke a window on the side of his house. Entry was not made.

11. Criminal mischief at 1502 Boen Street. (Conway Public Schools Transportation Office). Victim reported that sometime between Friday and Monday someone had broken five windows in two different school buses. There was also damage to the right rear of one of the buses. A rock found in each of the buses appeared to have caused the damage.
