CRIME BEAT: Mortgage broker arrested

Posted: 14 Nov 2010 11:15 PM PST

A Pueblo mortgage broker has been arrested again for allegedly mishandling a man's mortgage payments.

Anthony "Tony" Paglione, 60, also is suspected of bilking $350,000 from Puebloan David Roscover, according to an affidavit.

Paglione was wanted on five counts of securities fraud. He was arrested Tuesday.

Paglione was arrested a year ago in October during a mortgage fraud investigation.

The affidavit said Roscover borrowed $200,000 from Paglione's business, Front Range Capital Mortgage, in May 2005.

The money was to build a home in El Camino.

In December of that year, according to reports, Roscover had Paglione submit a loan to Homecomings Financial to pay off his loan with Paglione. Roscover thought his debt with Paglione had been cleared until 2008, when he received a letter from a different investment company stating he was delinquent on loan payments, the affidavit said.

Roscover owed more than $248,000 to Scottridge Investments, to which Paglione also had signed over the deed of trust to Roscover's El Camino home, the affidavit said.

Paglione also never repaid $350,000 worth of loans given to him by Roscover and his family between 2002 and 2006, the affidavit said.

Paglione, of the 3100 block of Bandera Parkway, is free from Pueblo County jail on $20,000 bail.
