Who: Diane Buhler Lieberman, 44, of West Palm Beach, lost her job when the bank she worked for restructured. Now, in addition to raising a new baby girl, she's combining her passion for thrifting and her compassion for the homeless by managing the Lord's Place Thrift Shop (7600 S. Dixie Highway,

West Palm Beach, (561) 494-0125, Ext. 6).

Dress happy: "Feeling good about how you look and what you're wearing can totally change your mood," Lieberman says.

Make it your own: When given her sister's hand-me-downs as a child, Lieberman punched them up by adjusting hemlines and necklines and adding fun accessories such as scarves or a great pair of shoes.

Her style: "I am all about comfort. I like it to look good, but I like it to feel comfy or I'm just not happy at all. I've tried to stuff myself into something in the past, and it can ruin my night — no matter how 'in' it is or how good someone else thinks it looks on me."

Her bargain tip: "I have a friend who can walk through World Thrift and pull out amazing BCBG and Dolce & Gabbana. If I had walked through that same aisle, I would have missed it. The key is to spend some time. And go back because things change daily. We're always processing donations at The Lord's Place Thrift Shop."

Ask about discounts, too. At Lieberman's shop, seniors (over age 55) receive 50 percent off clothing and 25 percent off housewares on Wednesdays, all customers receive a 15 percent Customer Appreciation discount on Tuesdays and Fridays, and everything in the store is 25 percent off on Saturdays.

Her $100 Look from The Lord's Place Thrift Shop: Beaded necklaces, $2 each, bracelet, $3, C.C. Outlaw tank, $4, D&G jeans, $20, jeweled Nina peep-toe mules, $8, gold sweater by Faded Glory Originals, $8, Dooney & Bourke bamboo-handled bag, $35.
